Clinical IT Analyst
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years recent experience as an RN. IT experience preferred
Required License/Certifications: Current state license as a registered nurse; current CPR certification.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Demonstrated success in working with teams. Strong problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develops appropriate contacts with SP/Meditech regarding all clinical modules.
- Participates in building of Meditech dictionaries for new modules and maintenance of existing clinical dictionaries that cross departmental lines.
- Develops, coordinates, and maintains a LSSH Meditech users group to troubleshoot ongoing operational issues and resolving problems as they arise.
- Collaborates with SP-IT to get new clinical users into the system and removes staff from the Meditech system who have resigned from the hospital.
- Maintains proficiency with Meditech and communicates to the staff the latest versions of Meditech and associated changes and increased capabilities that are included in new version.
- Implements effectively any Meditech upgrades.
- Maintains proficiency of interaction of Meditech clinical modules with the Billing and Accounts Receivable module.
- Demonstrates adherence of the Meditech clinical modules with The Joint Commission, state and LSSH standards and protocols.
- Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies, and procedures and guidelines for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in development of Meditech clinical modules.
- In implementation of all Meditech clinical modules, incorporates cultural and developmental needs into plan of care. In development of documentation maintains established standards of care.
- Collaborates and works cooperatively with all the hospital staff and physicians.
- Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.
- Identifies potential risks to patients: identifies risks to patients in order to reduce incidence of injury; identifies actions to eliminate, minimize or report risks; identifies procedures to follow in the event of an incident; reports processes for common problems, failures and user errors.
- Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
