Laguna Blanca School seeks a full time Maintenance & Grounds Technician starting in mid May. This role is essential to maintaining the beauty, safety, and functionality of the school grounds and facilities. We are looking for a hard-working and dedicated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively, and willing to perform a variety of tasks each workday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks range from general building/property maintenance and landscaping (i.e. mowing lawns, using blowers to clean walkways, etc.) The right applicant will have at least two years’ experience in general maintenance/construction and/or gardening. Some of the responsibilities of the position are as follows:
- Assist with general property maintenance, such as painting, minor repairs, and upkeep of outdoor structures
- Use and maintain basic hand tools and light power tools, including drills, circular saws, and grinders
- Perform basic custodial tasks using proper cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment
- Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of school grounds and work areas
- General familiarity with basic plumbing repairs and maintenance a plus

- Identify and report maintenance and safety issues promptly
- Set up and break down for school events as needed
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including lawn mowers, blowers, trimmers, and other landscaping tools
- Perform irrigation system maintenance, including repairs and adjustments
- Conduct routine gardening, including planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching
- Assist with special projects and campus improvements as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in general maintenance/construction
- Familiarity with standard maintenance tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for school-related events or projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to traverse school facility and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency
- Occasionally bend, stoop, squat and lift up to 40 lbs as part of job duties
- Have a current TB Assessment
- Must provide a clear fingerprint test and background check
- Have CPR and First Aid certifications or have the ability to become certified upon employment

COMPENSATION
Hourly range $21.00 - $25.00 depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement.
