What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oncology Social Worker-Radiation Therapy-FT-(Days) position at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital?
Collaborates with various medical providers and clinical teams to provide patient/family advocacy, assessment, and psychosocial interventions in the outpatient setting. Operates autonomously within the social work discipline to identify needs and follow through and manage referrals to resolution. The Social Worker meets with the Cancer patients and their family to provide coping support, emotional support, assess barriers to improve care outcomes, transportation assistance, financial navigation and access to appropriate community resources.
Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree in social work required. Master's Degree in social work preferred.
Minimum Work ExperienceOne year of experience in all aspects of social service and discharge planning preferred.
Required SkillsCertifications:• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days after hire date.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
LSW accepted, CSW or LCSW preferred
