Lakemary is looking for a Facilities Support position for our Facilities Department. A person who is a self-starter, highly motivated and can work independently without close supervision. Work involves duties in a fast-paced environment that require the application of many skills and the ability to complete projects in a timely manner. Perform work on our 32-acre campus in Paola, KS. This role functions under general supervision of the Facilities Director.
Facilities Support Responsibilities:
- General maintenance
- General HVAC maintenance
- Carpentry
- Minor Electrical
- Painting/Drywall Repairs
- Minor Plumbing
- Maintain grounds and landscaping
- Perform all facilities maintenance jobs as required
- Perform all general labor jobs in residential housing, buildings and campus improvements
- Performs outdoor maintenance as required
- Assists in purchasing supplies, tools and equipment
- Maintain company tools and all equipment properly
- Maintain and keep accurate records of jobs performed
- Operate commercial lawn mowers
An ideal candidate for this position has:
- Knowledge of:
- Standard maintenance practices
- Tools, equipment, and materials associated with a variety of maintenance jobs and repairs
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skills:
- The use and operation of power and hand tools used in construction/repair work. Use of commercial lawn mowers
- Ability to:
- Read, interpret, and work from written instructions, drawings, or diagrams.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Manage time effectively and complete all projects on time
- Work independently and without close supervision.
Facilities Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have and maintain a good driving record.
- Preferred experience in custodian, maintenance, electrical, HVAC, and/or plumbing.
Other Job Details:
- Day hours 7:30am to 4pm Monday through Friday
- Rotating schedule for on call for evening and weekend maintenance emergencies
- Starting pay: $20- Based on experience
