What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Specialist position at Lakeside Packaging Plus Inc?
JOB SUMMARY: The Employment Specialist assists Associates in achieving employment goals. This is done by developing job opportunities that match the skills, work experience and interests of the Associates. Knowledge of the community is necessary to establish and maintain relationships with employers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Knowledge of the WI Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Technical Specifications including mandatory training and understanding the expectations and benchmarks of DVR and other funding sources
· Assist with the completion of all profiles, assessments, and/or employment plans as needed and ordered by their funding sources and the Associates themselves
· Work with Associates to develop resumes and plan for interviews in the community
· Teach and mentor proper interview etiquette.
· Maintain regular contact with associations throughout job search process.
· Conduct and/or direct job development and job search activities that are focused toward positions which are individualized to the interest and uniqueness of the associate
· Conduct evaluations of potential job sites through informational interviews, assisting employers with customizing existing jobs to meet the abilities of the associates
· Write job proposals.
· Complete case notes and reports per DVR Technical Specifications and agency protocol
REQUIREMENTS:
· Posses an insured vehicle and maintain a drivers license free of serious or frequent violations.
· Demonstrates core values at all times.
· Attend company meetings.
· Attend regular training/ conferences.
· Flexible schedule
· Carry out special assignments when directed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Standing, walking, sitting for lengths of time
· Ability to verbally communicate and ability to hear conversation
· Visual acuity adequate to preform job duties
CERTIFICATIOS AND LICENSES:
· Certification in CPI. First Aid, CPR, and AED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Minimum of a High School Diploma
· Two years experience working with people with disabilities.
· Sales/ Marketing experience
· Have a strong working knowledge of computer operation.
