Duties
- Research, investigate, and report on sporting events.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging articles that adhere to our publication's style guide.
- Conduct interviews with sources to gather information and perspectives.
- Fact-check all content to ensure accuracy and credibility before publication.
- Edit and proofread articles for clarity, grammar, and style consistency.
- Collaborate with editor, Publisher and other reporters to develop story ideas and coverage plans.
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos to accompany written pieces.
- Utilize video production skills to create engaging multimedia content for various platforms.
- Stay updated on current events and trends relevant to the sporting world.
Experience
- Proven experience in journalism or a related field is preferred.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt style for different audiences.
- Proficiency in videography and video production techniques is a plus.
- Experience in photography
- Familiarity with copy editing processes and tools is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
