Description

Job Summary: Cultivate Donor relationships to enhance Annual Giving through the development and implementation of multiple programs:

  • Manage annual donor recognition program
  • Grow annual giving through the development of specific cultivation efforts
  • Win-back lapsed and sporadic donors
  • Cultivate donors to become sustaining members

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises, in conjunction with the Department Assistant, all student workers and student interns. Coordinates their work schedules and evaluates their performance.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds from time to time.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time working on a computer.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in stewardship or development field, or the professional/business community.
  • Some experience in non-profit environment helpful.

  • Able to develop ways in which the different areas of the giving program can be enhanced.
  • Able to provide a Biblical defense of and philosophy of stewardship.
  • People skills able to visit and cultivate people.
  • Supervision/Management skills to carry out job functions with office employees.
  • Able to represent LBC at events and to the community through various media.
  • A general awareness of the US tax laws and their relationship to the College.
  • Budgeting skills for the preparation, management and forecasting of the Community Scholarship fund budget.
  • Research skills to develop substantial gift support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to cultivate donors.
  • Analysis skills to identify giving trends.
  • Self-starter and able to handle confidential matters.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Donor2

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of donor relationships for annual giving.
  • Establish person-to-person relationships with donors.
  • Visit donors on a regular basis (100-150 visits per year).
  • Participate in the moves management program to maximize donor relationships.
  • Develop and implement programs to cultivate current donor.
  • Develop and implement plans to migrate members in terms of increasing size of pledge and gifts.
  • Identify donor members with the potential for major gifts.
  • Prepare individual plans for additional cultivation of these donor prospects.
  • Identify individual members with potential for planned giving.
  • Prepare individual plans for additional cultivation of these prospects with the Vice President of Advancement.
  • Keep donor contact information up to date.
  • Manage all reporting and analysis on donor retention, migration & giving.
  • Develop relationships with pastors and churches to communicate scholarship needs

Direct Mail Oversee the mechanics of the Direct Mail program

  • Be the contact person to the printer/mailing house for the college direct mail appeal program.
  • Create the annual timeline for appeal mailings (in conjunction with the VP of Advancement) and order materials necessary to complete the mailings in a timely fashion.
  • Work with the VP of Advancement as needed to receive the appeal letters from the President's Office and assemble any necessary collaterals to be included in the appeal mailings.
  • With the VP of Advancement create a budget for the direct mail program and annually analyze the results and recommend changes as needed.

Events

  • Plan and execute the annual Community Scholarship Thank you event
  • Be the point person for this annual event planning the event, recruiting students and providing leadership the day of the event.
  • Provide necessary information as needed for tasks assigned to other team members.
  • Assist in other college events as requested such as, but not limited to: Corporation events, Homecoming, special chapels, Golf Tournament, Presidential receptions and events.

Personal Touch Team Coordinator

  • Design and maintain a Thank You calling program for PTT donors using students to make calls.

Team Relations

  • Participate in a teamwork environment.
  • Assist other team members as appropriate in the accomplishment of department goals.
  • Treat all team members with respect living by the adage Treat others as you wish to be treated.
  • Assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the College ministry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
