Job Posting Description - Orthodontic Assistant

As an essential member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting our orthodontist in creating healthy, confident smiles.
Responsibilities:
Chairside Assistance: Work closely with the orthodontist during patient procedures, providing chairside assistance and anticipating their needs. Prepare treatment areas, assist with orthodontic appliances placement, adjustments, and removals, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience for patients.
Patient Care: Build strong relationships with patients by creating a friendly and welcoming environment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, care for orthodontic appliances, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
Patient Records: Assist in taking digital intra-oral scans, digital X-rays, and photographs for treatment planning and progress evaluation. Ensure all diagnostic records are accurately documented and organized.
Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilization and infection control protocols, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
Office Support: Provide administrative support as needed, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating treatment plans with other team members.
Lab Work: Assist with in-house lab work, including appliance fabrication and adjustments, ensuring precision and quality.
Requirements:
Certification and Experience: Must have completed an accredited dental assisting program and possess a valid state dental assisting license. Previous experience in an orthodontic or dental practice is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in dental terminology, orthodontic procedures, and the use of dental equipment, including digital X-rays, dental impressions, and various orthodontic appliances.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain precise records, follow instructions accurately, and pay attention to the smallest details in patient care.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Team Player: A positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a harmonious team environment and demonstrating a willingness to support colleagues.
