The Community Engagement Manager (CEM) will play a pivotal role in securing funding and cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners to support the mission of Lantern Lane Farm Counseling. This position requires an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts and overseeing all fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about LLF’s mission and dedicated to driving its fundraising strategies, including grants, events, individual giving campaigns and legacy giving. While the Community Engagement Manager position provides fundraising reports to the Board of Directors and CEO, the CEM is managed day-to-day by the Director of Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fundraising Strategy - Develop and execute a comprehensive written fundraising strategy, including annual campaigns, major gifts, legacy giving, ministry partners, schools, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants. Provide regular progress reports on fundraising goals and activities to the CEO and Board of Directors. Lead and manage the Development team (Board/Staff/Volunteers).
- Major Donor Cultivation & Stewardship - This position's primary responsibility is to identify and cultivate new donors, while strengthening relationships with existing donors. Develop and maintain a pipeline of major donors and prospects, ensuring regular communication and engagement. Oversee donor stewardship efforts, including thank-you letters, donor recognition programs, and annual impact reports. Ensure a high level of personal interaction with top donors.
- Foundation Relationship & Grants Team - Oversee grant strategy. Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation representatives to increase funding opportunities. Collaborate with Grant Writer to research, identify, and apply for relevant grants from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Ensure compelling grant proposals and reports that align with the organization’s mission and demonstrate impact.
- Community Engagement, Campaigns & Events - oversee and collaborate with the marketing team (Social Media, Website Manager, Events Team & Volunteers) to develop effective outreach and fundraising messaging for campaigns, events, and ongoing communications, ensuring alignment with the organization’s brand and mission.
CRITICAL QUALITIES

- Knowledge of fundraising trends and best practices in the non-profit sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors, board members, and staff.
- Familiarity with fundraising software, donor databases (e.g., DonorPerfect, Salesforce, Neon), and basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven track record of successfully securing major gifts, corporate partnerships, and grants.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, development, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, business)
- Experience with planned giving or capital campaigns is a plus.
