Learning Specialist
Lausanne Collegiate School seeks a full-time Learning Specialist serving the Middle School.
The Middle School Learning Specialist supports the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of middle school students through a comprehensive academic support program. This role focuses on assisting students with accommodations, offering guidance to faculty on instructional strategies, and ensuring students receive high-quality education through well-maintained learning plans. The Learning Specialist works closely with students, parents, and faculty to develop strategies, facilitate transitions, and promote student success.
Lausanne Collegiate School is a coeducational, college preparatory, PK2 (age 2) through 12th grade International Baccalaureate World School located in Memphis, Tennessee whose student body represents 77 different countries. Start Date: August 2025
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- 3 years of experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of executive function skills and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with neuropsychological assessments and learning plans preferred.
- Familiarity with curriculum and instructional best practices for adolescent learners.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Identify students needing learning support and implement appropriate interventions.
- Review psychoeducational evaluations and develop individualized learning plans.
- Maintain student records, accommodations, and intervention strategies.
- Provide in-class support and schedule regular check-ins with students and parents on learning plans.
- Facilitate internal and external testing accommodations and ensure compliance.
- Assist in the admission process by reviewing files of students with learning plans.
- Work collaboratively with faculty to support differentiated learning and student accommodations.
- Provide coaching and consultation on instructional strategies and assessments.
- Ensure teachers have up-to-date information on student learning plans and accommodations.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and learning plans.
- Assist with transition programming for students and parents.
- Provide families with resources to support executive function skills.
- Collaborate across divisions to enhance student support alignment.
- Maintain documentation of interventions to track student progress.
- Develop and oversee processes for assessing and responding to student needs.
- Serve on committees and participate in meetings as assigned.
- Support Lausanne’s mission, vision, and community values.
- Assist with additional duties such as carpool, lunch supervision, and student free time.
