What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spanish Teacher position at Lawrence Family Development Charter School?
LFDCS is committed to the development and implementation of effective practices to support language acquisition and academic fluency in English and Spanish for all students. Dual-language fluency—building on the first language of Spanish while supporting proficiency in English—utilizes best practices to meet our priority funding goal.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Teach students to read and write in Spanish.
•Provide the instructional program for students to reflect the goals of a Dual-Language Program.
•Ensure consistent discipline practices and integration with the classroom instruction.
•Participate in the monthly RTI (Response to Intervention) meeting for assigned grade levels.
•Meet weekly with grade-level classroom teachers to support parallel skills in two languages.
•Assist with standardized test administration or translation as requested by Head of School.
•Communicate with parents to ensure a cooperative family partnership in accord with the school’s mission and to increase student achievement.
•Participate in and adopt school-based professional learning, innovations and technology advances.
•Invest in personal and professional development through on-going training in accord with an approved professional development plan.
•Provide letters of reference for high school admissions process (grade 8 students) as requested.
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
