Our Pastry Cook’s primary responsibility is to work with the Chef in producing, measuring and mixing ingredients, and preparing and improving items. The Pastry Cook is engaged in producing bakery products for guests and co-workers of the restaurant. To ensure that the guest’s expectations are consistently exceeded. The Pastry Cook follows and ensures compliance with food safety handling policies and maintains an organized and hygienic work area, including personal hygiene procedures The Pastry Cook must be thoroughly familiar with Lawry’s appearance standards, safety procedures and the overall operation of our kitchen.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
- A minimum of 1-2 years prior experience as a prep cook or pastry cook in a high volume kitchen is required.
- Consistently follow and execute recipes, preparation methods, and portion control procedures in a fast, high volume environment
- Pastry cook candidates must have above average knife skills and must display station organization.
- Must be able to stay cool under pressure and be a team player.
- Must have a commitment to heart of house excellence.
- Must have current Food Handler’s card
- Must be able to work evening shifts, weekends and holidays
EXPERIENCE
At least one (1) year of previous experience as a prep cook or pastry cook in a high-volume, high-end dining establishment is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current Local/State Food Handler’s Training Certifications as required.
Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers POS system, calculators and touch screens.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Some college or culinary education beneficial.
Salary Range: $18-$21/hour
