Job Title: Pipefitter Foreman
Lawson Rigging & Fabrication is a Design-Build General Contractor specializing in completing the process of industrial facilities throughout the United States. Our clients include heavy industrial, manufacturing, food-grade processing plants, chemicals, and processing; power and renewable energy; fertilizer facilities, commercial grain facilities, barge loading/unloading facilities.

Job Summary:
The Pipefitter Foreman leads and oversees pipe welding and fitting teams to ensure the successful completion of projects within the specified timeframe and budget. This role requires extensive knowledge in pipe welding and fitting, project coordination, and team management. The foreman ensures that all work complies with company standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership:
o Supervise a team of welders and fitters, providing guidance, training and oversight
o Assign tasks, manage workloads and coordinate activities to maintain efficient workflow and meet project timelines.
o Serve as a primary point of contact for workers, addressing questions and resolving issues on-site.
- · Project Coordination:
o Review blueprints, specifications and work orders to understand project scope and specific requirements.
o Plan, schedule and monitor work activities; ensuring adherence to project deadlines.
o Ensure materials and resources are available and prepared for each job phase.
- · Welding & Fitting Expertise:
o Inspect and prepare pipes, fitting and related components to ensure they meet project specifications.
o Provide technical support and guidance on pipe welding/fitting techniques including cutting, bending and joining.
o Ensure proper welding techniques are used and oversee quality control processes, making adjustments as necessary.
- · Safety & Compliance
o Enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, Coast Guard and company-specific safety regulations.
o Conduct regular safety briefings, inspections and equipment checks to maintain a safe work environment.
o Investigate and report any accidents or safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- · Quality Control:
o Oversee inspections of finished welds, joints and installations to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
o Documents work processes, inspections and tests as part of the project’s quality control.
- · Administrative Duties:
o Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, attendance and completed tasks.
o Prepare reports on work progress, team performance and any issues or delays encountered.
o Communicate with the project manager and other stakeholders on project status, requirements and challenges.
Qualifications
· Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pipe welding and fitting, with at least 2 years in supervisory or foreman role.
· Certifications: Relevant welding certifications (e.g., ASME, AWS) preferred; OSHA certification is a plus.
· Knowledge: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols and project specifications.
· Skills:
o Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
o In-depth understanding of welding techniques, fitting methods and safe work practices.
o Proficient with welding equipment, tools and materials.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to work in varying environments, including outdoor and industrial settings, and lift heavy materials.
Work Environment
The Pipefitter Foreman will work primarily on-site at construction or industrial locations, with exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery and various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
