What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations/Maintenance Technician position at LB Transportation Consulting Inc?
Immediate openings with an established small business that is Woman and Minority owned (M/WBE & DBE). LB Transportation (LBTC) was founded in 2002. LBTC has continued to grow and expand operations and now has operations in several US cities.
This position is primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and recovery activities on airport automated people mover (APM) systems, and electrical trains within the limitations of standard methods and procedures. Perform Central Control Operations per company guidelines. These operations run 24/7/365 and require employees on various shifts. Shift differentials are provided for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working from oral, written, or electronically generated instructions to perform skilled preventive maintenance, operations, adjustments, corrections, repairs, diagnosis, or modifications to various electronic/electromechanical equipment and components found in the APM system.
- Utilize a variety of procedures, manuals, drawings, and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair the APM systems and components.
- Utilize a variety of precision measuring equipment to test for defective wiring and connections, micrometers to check for excessive wear on components/parts, and oscilloscopes/analyzers to troubleshoot, align, adjust, and calibrate circuits to effectively diagnose and repair system
- Document all activities regarding work performed on the systems. Complete documentation in the prescribed format and in a timely manner.
- Operate central control safely and efficiently as detailed in Company and customer guidelines.
- Conduct vehicle recovery activities as required in a safe and timely manner.
- Communicate over the public address system and twoway radio systems.
Other duties may include:
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedule and quality requirements. Notify the supervisor/manager of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional materials and supplies.
- Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping the work area clean and orderly.
- Participate in various meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a high degree of knowledge of new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Tools and Equipment Used:
Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS), micrometers, oscilloscopes, analyzers, calipers, power tools, and hand tools necessary to perform electro-mechanical and maintenance services.
Knowledge/License:
A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in the electromechanical field is required.
Prior APM experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of precise measuring instruments such as micrometers, oscilloscopes, and analyzers is required.
- Knowledge and experience in the analytical use of complicated written instructions, drawings, and schematics.
- Must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle and have a satisfactory driving record.
- Must pass Atlanta International Airport Security Clearance.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English language fluently.
Education:
- Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred (copy of degree provided to the employer)
- Certificate in Aviation, Automotive, or similar Electromechanical Technology preferred. (copy of degree provided to the employer)

1st shift (6a-2:30p)
2nd shift (2p-10:30p)
3rd shift (10p-6:30a)
