Job Responsibilities
A certified dietary manager runs the day-to-day operations. Management of food service employees is a key responsibility -- scheduling, hiring, employee relations and performance management. Other responsibilities include nutrition consulting, meal planning, inventory control, budgeting and purchasing. Additionally, a dietary manager should expect to interact with numerous employees and residents on a daily basis; communication and customer service are important functions of the position.
Work Environment
Managers may be expected to work on weekends and be on call when necessary. As with many food services positions, expect an on-your-feet, fast-paced, high-stress environment. Also, occupational hazards are prevalent in the food service industry. Expect sharp knives, hot surfaces and wet floors in the typical workplace.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
