What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Behavioral Interventionist position at Learning Perspectives, Inc.?
private mental health provider, seeks individual to work in public school classroom setting with behaviorally challenging children with mental health issues, autism and/or other disabilities as Behavioral Interventionist. Will provide schedule, cues and redirection to attend to educational tasks, as well as using best techniques for interacting with children with autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, anxiety, mental health issues and other disabilities. Will work with classroom teacher while having clinical support from Learning Perspectives. Professional position requires degree, experience with individuals with challenging behaviors, autism and/or other disabilities, and knowledge about effective strategies in working with children with challenging behaviors. Must be very familiar with de-escalation techniques and experience working with aggressive children and adolescents. Part time w ability to move to full time.
Qualifications:
- BA in related field and requires 3 years of experience working with children in behavior, mental health, or special education role
- Passionate about helping students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and collaborate, work in intense but supportive environment
- Commitment to positive behavior interventions and positive change for students
