Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Assistant to support children that have visual and deelopmental disabilities. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children enjoy community class and have experience working with diverse learning needs. The Special Assistant will work closely with parents and caregivers to create a nurturing environment that supports children with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Driving to and from school/home events. Mileage reimbursement included.
- Provide attentive care and support during community classes or events.
- Drive to and from childrens school, home, and community events or classes.
- Engage children in activities that promote childhood development, including social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support positive interactions among children.
- Maintain detailed records of events, incident reporting, coaching methods, and any notable assesments or observations.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a drug and backround check.
- Valid drivers licence and reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
- Strong behavior management skills to effectively guide children's interactions.
- Experience in documenting using eVero a plus.
- A genuine passion for nurturing young children, ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
