Job Description :
The Ammonia Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure the safety and efficiency of the equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety standards to support production and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Monitor and adjust refrigeration system settings to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues related to ammonia systems and make necessary repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system cleanings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, including ammonia leaks or equipment failures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs using the company's maintenance management system.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and facility personnel to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training, drills, and other compliance activities related to ammonia refrigeration.
