Description :
Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose : This is a transitional role that starts heavily in IT security, then transitions into manufacturing engineer role with part time IT support.
The manufacturing Engineer will learn all aspects of our manufacturing business. This includes glass-to-metal seals, chemical plating, micro-welding, as well as other mechanical and chemical processes. Quickly become an integral part of a team that knows their individual roles, while also taking on tasks and projects as needed that could be out of their scope for the betterment and success of the team. Areas of knowledge will include :
Bill of material / Bill of Operations development
Specialized process development with an emphasis on plating and chemistry
Train and support co-workers
Technical Sales awareness and support
Specialized component purchasing support
Initial phase of the role will require :
Experience with Microsoft-based networking - on-premises Active Directory / cloud Azure Active Directory (now called Entra ID); basic networking concepts like TCP / IP protocols.
Experience in supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Experience with basic Cybersecurity concepts / Firewall experience (Fortinet a plus) - they don't have to be FLUENT in this, but get the general concepts of protecting against malware, maintaining software & operating system patches, allow / block lists, etc,
After the initial phase
The right candidate will be driven for success in the areas of custom manufacturing including :
Learn all aspects of manufacturing process
Review and understand customer specifications
Create and modify internal documentation based on customer requirements
Troubleshoot existing process parameters
Develop new process procedures
Interact with manufacturing, sales, and quality departments
Reports to Engineering Manager
Requirements :
Skills and Knowledge :
Highly motivated and a self-starter
Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong mechanical and chemical aptitude are required
Highly proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Products : Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Decision making, problem solving and creative thinking skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Education and qualifications :
BS in Mechanical and / or Chemical Engineering is preferred
