Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging activities and programs for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
- Plan and coordinate a variety of recreational therapy activities to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Provide individualized care and support to residents with dementia or memory care needs.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Manage the activity schedule, ensuring a balance of group and individual activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and stimulating environment for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in senior care and recreational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in recreational therapy, senior care, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to residents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage schedules and prioritize tasks.
