General Purpose of the Job:
The Research & Development Co-Op will work side-by-side with R&D Engineers in the design and development of new devices. This position will utilize chemistry lab techniques and equipment to analyze chemical and biological samples, develop and validate new analytical methods and also involves the handling and analysis of biological tissue. Additional tasks include keeping a detailed laboratory notebook, learning about the design process for medical devices, and developing manufacturing processes for production.
Role Description
- This is an internship role for a Research And Development Intern at LeMaitre located in Burlington, MA. The intern will be involved in research and development tasks, conducting analytical work, and utilizing laboratory skills. This is an on-site position.
- Assist engineers with the handling and dissection of tissue.
- Perform analysis on tissue including DNA extraction and GAG extraction, histology and chemical extractions.
- Perform mechanical testing and develop new fixtures for future testing.
