Overview of Position
Prior Trucking, warehouse, logistics, and/or cost control experience a plus! Must have the ability to multi- task in a fast paced environment, monitor drivers, provide updates to customers/ brokers, enter reporting data, and negotiate the booking of loads utilizing strong communication and computer skills. Position acts as primary interface between office, drivers, and maintenance. To preform this job successfully, an individual must be able to preform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:
Summary of Duties**
Monitor Drivers, negotiate loads, and update customers/ brokers as needed.
Communicates with drivers including status checks and coordinates for any changes in routes, schedule, equipment, etc. and providing assistance as needed.
Collects, analyzes, and reports vehicle information such as odometer, hub, ECM, readings, fuel usage scale slips, expenses etc. utilizing software for monitoring and analysis.
Helps others in logistics accomplish job related tasks of fleet management.
Improves job knowledge through staff development including but not limited to operating a multi-line phone system, scanning, data entry, recordkeeping, ect.
Follows standards, procedures, and regulations along with other duties as assigned.
Work Experience Requirement **
2 years’ experience in transportation, warehousing, administration, and/ or agriculture (Preferred)
Education Requirement
- Associate’s degree (preferred)
Skill Set Requirement **
Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and coordination skills
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Basic accounting and math
Organizational, attention to detail, and scheduling
Inventory control and management
Physical Requirement
Talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/ hand/foot coordination
Environmental Factor / Working Conditions
Some travel may be required for training.
Work environment required immediate response to spontaneous customer demands
