Job Summary: Leo’s Market and Eatery is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, friendly and reliable Customer Care Associate to join our team at Leo’s Market and Eatery. As the face of our store, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our customers. Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide an enjoyable shopping experience for all customers.
- Respond to customer requests in a timely manner.
- Operate the cash register maintaining proper cash levels, through the point-of-sale system, providing quick and efficient transactions.
- Enforce local, state and federal regulations regarding the sale and handling of age restricted products and the sale of petroleum products.
- Promote store specials and loyalty programs to customers
- Maintain knowledge of store promotions, sales, and policies to inform customers effectively.
- Provide support to the entire store team during busy periods or when additional help is needed.
- Replenish products and supplies to always ensure in-stock conditions in the cooler and shelving, including checking dates and product rotation.
- Communicate with management regarding customer requests and vendor-related concerns.
- Support, follow and adhere to the execution of established safety, security, quality and store operations policies, procedures and practices.
- Assist with special projects or deep cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service by providing pleasant greetings and parting remarks to guests including making eye contact.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic math skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
- Due to the nature of work, including the sale of tobacco products and alcohol, must be at least 19 years old.
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
- Certification of Age-Related Tobacco and Alcohol Training, to be provided.
- Underground Storage Tank (UST) Training, to be provided.
Physical Demands:
- Constantly standing, walking, reaching with hands & arms, using hands and fingers to handle & feel, and talking & hearing. Constantly lifting or exerting force up to five (5) pounds.
- Frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting & bending, tasting & smelling. Frequently lifting or exerting force up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Occasionally pushing, pulling, climbing, sitting and lifting. Occasionally lifting or exerting force up to fifty (50) pounds.
