SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with a licensed Occupational Therapist to treat patients with therapeutic and self-care activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements plan of care developed by Occupational Therapist.
- Monitors a patient's progress to make sure that they're successfully completing treatment.
- Encourages the patient during their recovery process.
- Helps patients to improve their quality of life by finding solutions to their problems.
- Helps injured patients improve their motor skills with the goal of re-entering the workforce and improving activities of daily living.
- Teaches patients with disabilities to become more independent and functional.
- Updates patient records for the Occupational Therapist.
- Keeps the office, treatment room and equipment in good order.
- Teaches patients, family members or other Caregivers skills and techniques to help with the patients' treatment program.
- Teaches patients how to use special equipment.
- Records patients’ progress, report to occupational therapists, and do other administrative tasks.
- Demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
- Maintains open channels of communication with center administration and other company departments.
- Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
