Summary
As the face of the bank, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks including providing excellent customer service, processing account transactions, opening new accounts, resolving customer needs, following proper procedures and being a strong team player who enjoys helping others.
Position Overview
- Assist customers while accurately processing various types of transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, setting up online banking and updating contact information.
- Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability; place holds when appropriate.
- Process night drop, mail and courier deposits.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and adhere to internal controls to minimize errors and reduce fraud.
- Open various types of consumer and business deposit accounts and obtain all required customer information, documentation and bank agreements.
- Engage with customers in person, by phone or email regarding bank services, products and any account issues that may arise.
- Maintain customer and bank confidentiality at all times.
- Follow all bank and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Actively support bank operations with daily report review, mailing client letters and inactive/dormant notices, processing return mail, branch retention and destruction, large item review, debit card and bill pay balancing.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills required to handle customer needs.
- Accuracy in handling cash, balancing a cash drawer and entering customer transactions into the computer.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to professionally and positively represent the bank to customers and to interact with staff and management.
- Ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions.
- Basic understanding of the financial industry.
- Basic knowledge of core banking systems.
- Adept in attention to detail and follow up.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (coin bags).
This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available.
