Job Description:
We are seeking motivated, experienced, and trustworthy applicants for a part-time sales and stock position at our brick-and-mortar store in downtown Santa Barbara. The ideal candidate will have some retail and/or customer service experience (though we are happy to train if your experience is limited!), some weekday AND weekend availability, availability through Christmas, and be organized with a positive attitude.
We guarantee two to three full days a week, with the potential for more hours in November and December, our busiest season.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cash register and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Assist customers in locating products, recommendations, and other customer service inquiries.
- Maintain display standards, including re-stocking inventory on the sales floor.
- Help receive, unpack, and process new merchandise.
- Assist in stock room organization, as needed.
- Provide general store cleaning that could include: vacuuming, sweeping, taking out recycle/trash, and dusting shelves, displays, and register areas.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- Previous experience in retail is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, occasionally lift heavy objects, and occasionally climb ladders.
Shift:
- 6-6.5 hour shifts, including 30 minute paid lunchbreak.
