Payroll Director

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable Louisville, KY client to identify a Payroll Director for their growing team. This is a newly created role within the team with a heavy emphasis on processing, system management/implementation and leadership of junior staff. The ideal candidate will offer a roll up their sleeves type of attitude and be a proactive solution focused leader.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee payroll process for 4,000 employees including data input, calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes, and distribution of payments.
• Lead and manage a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to ensure success.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, ensuring compliance and reporting.
• Prepare and review payroll reports for accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of payroll budgets and forecasts.
• Act as a leader on system management, implementation and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 5 years of leadership experience- Senior or Director level.
• System implementation experience.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Additional Details:

• Hybrid work schedule, 2-3 days in office
• $100-130k
• Full benefit package offered
