Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for meeting the growth objectives and lending volume through their sales channel.
- Work with the Director of Direct Consumer Lending to hire, train, and mentor a highly professional sales team.
- Implement, manage, and track goals for individual lenders:
- Develop a sales plan for each lender and track the progress toward meeting individual goals.
- Monitor productivity and results relative to established objectives and ensure appropriate steps are taken to achieve sales goals and maintain high levels of member satisfaction.
- Daily/weekly tracking of team and individual progress towards established goals.
- Mentor and coach lenders to meet established sales goals:
- Monthly one on one meetings with each team member.
- Work with lenders, throughout the month, that are not on track to meet their goals by developing action plans to improve performance.
- Provide guidance to lenders so that they are communicating professionally and effectively with members and other contacts:
- Observe calls for each lender.
- Review monthly call recordings to ensure lenders maintain established call quality standards.
- Develop communication scripts and coach team on etiquette.
- Ensure that the staff exhibits high quality of work and service to members.
- Work with the Director of Direct Consumer Lending to coordinate sales meetings to discuss goals, new developments, or services:
- Set weekly sales goals.
- Develop various contests to keep the team motivated and engaged.
- Work with Director of Direct Consumer Lending to forecast monthly/annual sales volumes and goals. Develop and implement strategies for achieving sales goals.
- Utilization of Lodestar to track progress and lead generation.
- Process and analyze employee loan requests:
- Take applications and gather supporting documentation.
- Make recommendations on credit union products for individual needs.
- Offer payment protection and ancillary products.
- Prepare closing documents and fund loans.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union consumer lending products.
- Schedule and manage employee activities:
- Review accuracy of timecards and correct as needed.
- Determine time off eligibility.
- Create monthly work schedules.
- Review teams monthly WFH.
- Provide assistance in resolving member and employee issues or concerns.
- Conduct research, analyze, and make recommendations for enhancements to our programs and offerings.
- Keep Director of Direct Consumer Lending informed of lending activities, needs, and problems. Prepare and submit applicable loan reports.
- Work with the Director of Direct Consumer Lending to conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Must be able to work extended hours and Saturdays as needed.
- Adhere to the credit union’s S.E.R.V.I.C.E. standards.
- Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, by-laws, and operational procedures.
- Any other duties assigned by leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of previous Lending experience
- Minimum of 1 year in a leadership role running a sales channel
- Experience with CRM and LOS system preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to meet sales objectives in a fast paced and professional environment
- Determine customers' eligibility and acceptability of loan risk based on income, debt, employment history and other credit data required for loan approval.
