JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a phlebotomist whose responsibility is to collect, prepare and transport specimens to Laboratory for analysis in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Provides safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patient populations. Performs laboratory support functions, to include, but not limited to clerical duties, receiving and distribution of stock. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to supervisor or designee. The position reports to the Supervisor of Laboratory.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school required. Completion of a program in phlebotomy required.
Formal Training: Clinical competence in medical technology and basic computer skills
preferred.
Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Phlebotomy certification required.
Work Experience: Advanced phlebotomy skills in all areas.
