Submarine Electrician (Submarine Sail Representative)
Position Summary:
The Submarine Sail Representative in Santa Rita, Guam will provide training and failure evaluation to industrial activities for submarine operations, regional support groups, fleet maintenance activities, naval shipyards, and maintenance personnel. The rep will advise groups on the installation, repair and maintenance of HM&E (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical) systems for SSN, SSGN and SSBN towed antenna class submarines. This will include SUBSAFE and non-SUBSAFE items and tasking will be provided both CONUS and OCONUS to support the operational submarine force.

Position Summary:
The Submarine Sail Representative in Santa Rita, Guam will provide training and failure evaluation to industrial activities for submarine operations, regional support groups, fleet maintenance activities, naval shipyards, and maintenance personnel. The rep will advise groups on the installation, repair and maintenance of HM&E (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical) systems for SSN, SSGN and SSBN towed antenna class submarines. This will include SUBSAFE and non-SUBSAFE items and tasking will be provided both CONUS and OCONUS to support the operational submarine force.
Required Clearance:
- Must be a US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance
- Perform various (Close Out, INSURV, Post Refit, Depot Availability In-Progress and Completion, etc.) inspections and oversight of systems at each of the ISEA Representative on-site locations.
- Systems include: high data rate antenna, towed buoy, communications antenna, imaging/periscope, universal modular masts, radar/navigation, snorkel induction, electronic support measure mast, sail closure door, and general submarine sail HM&E systems.
- Update technical databases with issues identified in above inspections and provide repair recommendations to maintenance facilities
- Review and validate technical documentation.
- Validate system configurations and document discrepancies.
- Perform liaison support during sail zone installations as requested.
- Represent the local TYCOM/Squadron on technical issues related to the sail zone and sail HM&E systems on the waterfront.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned or required as business needs dictate.
- High School diploma
- 5 years of prior military, DoD, or related business experience in Submarine HM&E systems maintenance.
- 1 years experience in providing field engineering support on Submarine Sail and Towed Antenna Systems, and HM&E.
- Experience in the inspection, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems of submarines.
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
- Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
