The Role
Assistant Director of F&B
The Assistant Director of F&Bhas a passion for all things food and beverage and is responsible for controlling costs and maximizing budgeted revenue. This key leadership role will oversee daily operations of the restaurant including inventory and labor management, staff training and development, culinary programming and all F&B related technology platforms. The Assistant Director of F&B is a passionate leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys creating memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Maximizes food and beverage revenues while controlling costs in alignment with budget.
- Develops and implements strategies to maximize budget effectiveness.
- Manages scheduling and approves timesheets for front-of-house and culinary teams using When I Work.
- Oversees inventory ordering, ensuring optimal prices and purchasing decisions to meet financial targets.
- Manages vendor list and ordering guides, ensuring regular updates.
- Actively recruits, hires, and coaches talent.
- Participates in running service, interacts with guests, and coaches staff positively.
- Conducts ongoing training and development in food, beverage, service, and hospitality.
- Oversees culinary programming, including menu development and staff menu training.
- Utilizes technology for administrative tasks and responds to online reviews.
- Well versed in every F&B position with the ability to cover call offs or assist in peak times of business.

Requirements & Experience
- 2-5 years of hospitality experience in upscale full-service restaurants.
- Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ongoing changes.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and develop employees.
- Ability to identify problems and solve them.
- Proven track record in building high-performance teams.
- Professional and confident verbal and written communication with guests, employees and ownership.
- Riverside County Food Handler’s Card, ServSafe and TiPs certified (or equivalent).
- Clear understanding of the English language (verbal and written).
- Experience working with various scheduling, administrative, technology systems and their integrations including Gusto, MarketMan, etc.
- Familiarity with Apple products and applications.
