Emergency Medical Technician - Basic: Driving and treating stretcher-bound patients to medical appointments, transfers, discharges, and admissions.
EMTs At Life Ride respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls, while providing an appropriate level of care within the EMT scope of practice. This can include lifesaving treatments, monitoring vitals, checking O2 levels, and handling any situation that comes up.
Top Duties and Qualifications:
- The main duties of an EMT at Life Ride include non-emergency transportation of patients to hospitals and other medical facilities, driving emergency vehicles safely, responsibly and quickly, and being responsible for patient care.
- Must wear and handle personal protective equipment and follow social distancing/CDC guidelines
- Must be capable of lifting 100-150 pounds.
- Must be capable of working up to 12 hour shifts.
Other essential duties and responsibilities for an EMT include:
- Provide first-aid treatment, such as bandaging wounds.
- Provide basic life support, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), when needed.
- Assess a patient’s conditions and provide initial treatment.
- Determining if a patient needs to be transported to an ER or trauma center.
- Work 12-hour shifts in all weather conditions.
- Communicating with additional dispatch resources such as ALS .
- Documentation of each call, such as timestamps, vitals, and patient condition is essential.
- Ensuring ambulances are fully stocked before and after each shift by conducting a thorough rig check.
- Checking and testing all ambulance equipment before and after each shift, including but not limited to, stretcher, sirens, emergency lights, blinkers, and oxygen.
- Restocking used supplies.
- Checking expiration dates on all supplies and medications.
- Disinfecting ambulances after calls.

- Wound Care Appointments
- General Doctor Appointments
- Psych Related Admissions/Transfers
- Discharges
Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old to treat
- Be at least 23 years old to drive
- EMT-B Certification
- BLS Provider CPR Certificate (Training Paid for & Provided by Life Ride)

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
