Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller with strong initiative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of medical billing processes and coding systems, credentialling, ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursement for services rendered. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while providing excellent support to our patients and healthcare providers. Billing processing is done through Modernizing Medicine. Includes credentialling for Washington and Oregon for four Providers.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD and CPT to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to claims.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, billing regulations, and coding updates.
- Assist in the management of accounts receivable by tracking outstanding claims and following up as necessary.
- Provide support for patient inquiries regarding billing statements, payment plans, and insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with the medical office team to ensure seamless operations and patient satisfaction.
- Posting and depositing of claims at financial institution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical coding practices, including familiarity with ICD systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- College or Masters level education in relavent field; additional certification in medical billing or coding is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 36 per week
