Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Keep and assist with food inventory by monitoring proper food temperature, rotating and storing food properly.
- Assist in cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
- Assist in maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
- Assist in operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers or griddles.
- Assist in verifying that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Assist in washing, cutting and preparing foods designated for cooking.
- Assist in requisitions food products, checks inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality and ensures equipment is accurate. Makes sure that dated stock is properly rotated to minimize waste.
- Assist in recording supply usage for inventory and records purposes.
- Substitutes for Cook in his/her absence.

Qualifications
Required:
- Successful completion of a background check
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Food Handlers Certification
Education and/or Experience
- Entry level requires at least 1-3 years’ experience in food service.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
