Responsibilities:
Job Summary: Responsible for market research and the development and implementation of business and marketing plans that will increase revenues for the facility. Responsible for the marketing department inclusive of establishing goals and objectives, managing staff and working within budgetary guidelines.

Qualifications:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEADERSHIP CRITERIA AND PERFORMANCE:

  • Strategic Planning and Goal Setting: Gathers pertinent information related to departmental and organizational needs. After careful review of business and fiscal trends, chooses a course of action, defines goals and objectives and evaluates results and determines changes as needed.
  • Fiscal Management: Achieves goals and objectives while working within established budgetary guidelines. Manages equipment, supplies and FTEs.
  • Staff Management: Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees. Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment. Schedules staff according to the changing needs of the department.
  • Performance Management: Accomplishes results through staff by communicating job expectations, planning, and monitoring and appraising staff performance, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Uses policies, procedures and standards to enforce expectations and desired productivity.
  • Teamwork: Contributes to successful outcomes and project completion by working with others individually and through participation in assigned committee meetings.
  • Communication: Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing and with all customer groups including physicians, outside referral sources, managers and staff departmentally and interdepartmentally in order to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Accomplishes required written and statistical reports by deadlines and is able to present and use data for required monthly meetings, reports and decision making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understands regulatory requirements of all agencies that review areas of responsibilities.
  • Program Development: Plans, develops and implements new programs or policies that promote the organization both internally and externally.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC CRITERIA:

  • Conducts market research including analyzing financial, technological and demographic data to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans and programs to meet the facilities short and long term goals.
  • Oversees all advertising and marketing of programs including the development of all marketing materials and online advertisements.
  • Continuously monitors the effectiveness of new and existing marketing plans and strategies. Meets with marketing representatives to determine best approaches to achieve and maintain goals.
  • Represents the facility with business leaders, physicians, community and the media.
  • Integrates marketing efforts with Admissions and Billing. Understands Admission criteria and insurance plans.
  • Works closely with CEO, Medical Staff, and the Board of Directors and serves as a liaison between them and outside agencies.
  • Consults with leadership of hospital departments to collaborate in regards to marketing and business plans.
  • Contracts with private insurance payors in order to generate increased referrals. Negotiates annual rate increases to meet the increasing financial demands of the hospital.
  • Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
  • Responsible for marketing programs to a set territory as well as monitoring marketing efforts in all territories assigned to marketing staff.
  • Develop marketing campaign for new services. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure for each.
  • Assists in developing an ongoing service excellence/guest relations programs for employees.
  • Assists in planning any event that highlights hospital services.
  • Assists in developing an evaluation process to gain feedback from constituents.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts in accordance with the facilities goals and objectives while working closely with corporate leadership to provide corporate structure to all programs.
  • All other duties as assigned and needed by the facility.
REQUIREMENTS:

Educational:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, health promotions, or related field.

Experience:
  • 3 years in a management position, preferably within behavioral health.
  • Experience with behavioral health and substance use.
  • Demonstrated experience in fiscal management, staff development and supervision.
  • Exceptional communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in marketing that includes service development, pricing, relationship building, promotion, sales and public relations.
  • Must be creative, flexible and organized.
