Who We’re Looking For
We have an immediate opportunity for a Diamond Turning/Grinding Technician. The Diamond Turning/Grinding Technician will be responsible for the setup and operation of diamond grinding machines to produce spherical and aspherical mold tooling. The Diamond Grinding Technician will work with technical specifications, drawings, and blueprints for optical components.

Job Functions/Requirements: Diamond Turning/Grinding Technician Primary job functions are listed below but may change without notice.
- Safely machine parts using CNC diamond grinding equipment.
- Perform machine/tool setups.
- Able to generate and or modify CNC programs.
- Perform quality checks on own work.
- Polish form sensitive mold surfaces using manual and automated techniques.
- Measure mold surfaces using various metrology equipment including profilometers, micrometers, measure scopes, microscopes, interferometers, diamond turning equipment, hard coating equipment, and nickel plating equipment.
- Use Diffsys programming software, and Visual Manufacturing software on a daily basis.
- Work independently managing time to keep up with production demands.
- May include cross-training in diamond turning, hard coating, and nickel plating processes.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills Required:
- Basic machinist skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Some experience using G-code.
- Knowledge of proper use of basic metrology equipment.
- Able to manage time wisely in order to meet deadlines.
- Possess analytical skills to collect and assess data.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Able to assess and solve problems individually and within a group.
- Must be independent worker, self-motivated.
- Awareness of personal strengths and limitations.
