Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Prepare detailed estimates for machining projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid for accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimating.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids.
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and company policies.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines based on estimates provided.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather additional information necessary for accurate estimating.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Strong understanding of machinin principles and practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Familiarity with project management processes and contract administration.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications accurately.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
