What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Aide position at Lincoln Park Board of Education?
The Instructional Aide is responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in any way necessary to allow the teacher to focus on instruction. The instructional aide will assist the teacher by working with individual students as needed, preparing materials and activities, monitoring student progress and ensuring that each student is receiving instruction that meets their needs. The ideal candidate will work well with children and other adults.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor students' behavior to ensure their safety and well-being as well as the safety of others around them
- Assists the classroom teacher in the delivery of an effective instructional program
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning material or skills introduced by the teacher
- Guides independent study, enrichment work and remedial work assigned by the teacher
- Assists with the supervision of students throughout the day
- Participates in professional training as assigned
Education Required:
High School diploma
60 college credits or more increases chances for a higher hourly rate of compensation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.89 - $17.72 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 29.5 per week
