Description
We are seeking an experienced AV Programming Supervisor to lead and manage a team of AV programmers while performing advanced AV programming duties. The AV Programming Supervisor will oversee project assignments, ensure code quality, and deliver user-friendly AV solutions for diverse clients. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, and Extron systems, along with a proven track record of managing complex AV control and video wall projects.
Major responsibilities include (and not limited to)
- Supervise and manage a team of AV programmers, including project assignments, performance evaluations, training, and onboarding.
- Review system designs, functional line diagrams, and Statements of Work (SOW) to determine functionality requirements and user interface specifications.
- Design and develop user-friendly touch panel layouts for client review, incorporating feedback for seamless usability.
- Develop and test source code for control systems (e.g., Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, Extron) to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
- Load touch panel files, control processor code, and DSP configurations, verifying and testing all elements in-house and onsite.
- Configure DSP systems, including routing, performance optimization, and audio tuning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to secure IP-enabled device lists, static IP addresses, and networking requirements.
- Test and troubleshoot AV systems, including video walls, VTC systems, and overflow room integrations, ensuring all project deliverables meet quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior programmers, fostering skill development and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for AV programming, control systems, and audio/video optimization.
Qualifications
- Education: BFA in Computer Art, Interactive Design, or related field.
- Clearance: Public Trust clearance required.
- Certifications:
- Crestron Master Certified Programmer (MCP) and Crestron Certified Programmer
- QSC Q-SYS Certifications: Control 201, Level 2, Video 101, Reflect Enterprise Manager Technician
- Extron Control Professional Certification
Experience
- Minimum of 18 years of experience in AV programming and engineering
- Demonstrated success managing teams and overseeing AV programming projects
- Experience leading large-scale AV projects, such as DISA video walls and FEMA facility VTC systems
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with federal agencies, secured facilities, or government clients (DISA, FEMA, etc.).
- Previous success in creating advanced AV solutions, including custom integrations and automation.
Skills
- Proficiency in Crestron, QSC Q-SYS, Extron control systems programming
- Experience developing and integrating touch panels, user interfaces, and backend system code
- Expertise in DSP configurations, audio/video tuning, and routing optimization
- Advanced skills in REST API integration, JSON object deserialization, and creating custom AV plugins (e.g., Zoom one-touch support on QSC platforms)
- Strong project leadership and team management abilities
- Advanced programming and troubleshooting expertise in AV control systems
- Ability to design and implement complex AV systems, including video walls and VTC integrations
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills for advanced AV engineering challenges
