AV Project Lead

Description

We are seeking a highly experienced AV/VTC Project Lead to oversee and execute audiovisual (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) projects from initiation to completion. The AV/VTC Project Lead will be responsible for ensuring project success by meeting budget, timeline, and quality objectives, while providing leadership and technical expertise across all phases of the project. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, hands-on technical abilities, and deep knowledge of AV/VTC systems.

Major responsibilities include (and not limited to)

• Manage end-to-end AV and VTC projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop comprehensive project plans that align customer requirements with organizational goals.
• Continuously monitor project progress, proactively identifying risks and implementing solutions to mitigate issues.
• Review and analyze vendor proposals and quotes, providing recommendations for best-value solutions.
• Oversee and coordinate with vendors, technicians, and project controls to address schedules, lead times, and resource requirements.
• Ensure the proper implementation of Change Management processes and document all scope modifications.
• Plan and supervise AV/VTC service calls, inspections, and quality management processes post-implementation.
• Provide technical oversight for the installation, configuration, testing, and calibration of AV systems, including conference rooms, auditoriums, classrooms, and data centers.
• Train end-users on system operations, ensuring seamless adoption and usage of AV and VTC systems.
• Mentor and train junior staff on AV systems, installation best practices, and project management techniques.
• Perform routine inspections and upgrades, including firmware, hardware, and software maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.

  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist Integrator (CTS-I)
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist Designer (CTS-D)
  • BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF)
  • OSHA-30 Certification
  • Crestron DMCD-4K
  • BiAmp TesiraForte
  • Planar Video Wall Installer and NanoLumens Video Wall Training

Experience

• Proficiency with AV systems such as Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, AMX, Extron, Vaddio, Polycom, Shure, Crown, Tandberg, and related AV/VTC components.
• Experience with network integration, fiber optics, rack fabrication, cable termination (Cat 5/6, Fiber, XLR, BNC, 232), and system testing.
• Skilled in reading and editing schematics, wire runs, and project documentation.
• Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot AV systems to meet design specifications.

Preferred Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years managing AV/VTC projects across government and/or commercial clients.
• Demonstrated success leading projects for institutions such as federal agencies, higher education, or enterprise clients.
• Experience leading teams, mentoring junior technicians, and coordinating with vendors and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data center AV builds, security systems, and telecommunication infrastructure.
