Come join LiveWire Construction we have an immediate need for an experienced Chief Electrical Estimator with solid experience in heavy electrical construction that includes new construction and renovations for commercial, industrial and transportation markets.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, direction and training for estimating team members.
- Manage all aspects of the estimating processes while meeting deadlines and company objectives, both short and long term.
- Lead the team to provide accurate, complete and competitive pricing.
- Maintain relationship with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing and build relationships.
- Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives and senior management.
- Oversee the entire estimating process on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.
- Review estimates and lead bid review process with management personnel to ensure that bids/estimates are completed on time and with a high degree of quality
- Drive estimating reviews to ensure that all project plans, specifications, and scopes are fully covered by the estimating staff
- Supervise, direct, train and mentor estimating staff to ensure company, team, and individual processes and goals are met; consistently hold team accountable to performance standards
- Provide conceptual budgeting advice to clients and project managers based on historical data, past experience, lessons learned, and current labor unit rates; effectively communicate thought process
- Ability to assess project risks and requirements to provide support ranking and selecting bid opportunities; provide strategic input to ensure competitive pricing
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with key stakeholders including general contractors, clients, vendors, company personnel, field supervision, and estimating staff; ensure timely follow up with customers on submitted bids
- Track information regarding material types and square foot pricing costs, labor productivity issues, historical estimate data, and current construction trends to incorporate this knowledge into estimates
- Manage flow of information within department to ensure it is timely and aids in accurate estimates
- Manage the accuracy and quality of the estimating ConEst database

Education and Experience
- BS or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required
- 15 years electrical contracting or construction experience
- 10 years electrical estimating experience
- 5 years project management experience
- 5 years management or executive level experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Other Considerations
- Ability to travel
- Proficiency in ConEst
- Ability to visit jobsites and interact with field personnel
- Handle physical aspects of job: standing, sitting, lifting up to 25LBS
