Job Title: Medical Director (Veterinarian)
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced veterinarian to step into a leadership role as Medical Director (MD) at a thriving veterinary hospital. The MD will be responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care, managing a team of associate veterinarians, and overseeing hospital operations to ensure both medical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides strong leadership, mentoring veterinarians and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Ensures compliance with all veterinary regulations and standards.
- Oversees patient care, ensuring smooth operations and positive communication between doctors, staff, and clients.
- Develops and implements medical standards, policies, and protocols.
- Collaborates with the hospital leadership team to manage hospital operations and financial health.
- Handles administrative duties, including scheduling, conflict resolution, client relations, and ensuring compliance with the State Veterinary Medical Practice Act, OSHA, and AAHA standards.
- Sees patients and performs clinical duties alongside leadership responsibilities.

- Leadership: Demonstrates strong leadership skills by guiding and mentoring veterinarians while building a positive and cohesive team.
- Communication: Facilitates clear and effective communication among doctors, staff, and clients, ensuring smooth patient care transitions.
- Conflict Resolution: Effectively handles client, staff, and referral partner issues with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Medical Excellence: Maintains and promotes high standards of veterinary care, conducting regular reviews and providing coaching when necessary.
- Financial Oversight: Collaborates with the Hospital Manager to monitor key performance indicators and ensure the financial success of the practice.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience (preferred).
- Excellent communication, time-management, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and professional attitude.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $170,000 - $200,000 USD
