Job Summary :

The General Ledger Accountant will oversee the day-to-day financial operations related to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional seeking to contribute to a collaborative team while developing their skills in a mid-level capacity.

Key Responsibilities :

General Ledger and Accounting Operations

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and allocations.
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Financial Reporting

Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analyses.

Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Audit and Compliance

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Maintain organized and up-to-date records for audit and regulatory purposes.

Accounts Reconciliation

Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and other financial accounts.

Monitor and resolve outstanding items promptly.

Process Improvement

Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency within accounting operations.

Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and controls.

Collaboration

Work closely with other departments to support financial data needs and ensure accurate reporting.

Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications and Skills :

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with general ledger or financial reporting responsibilities.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).

Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups).

Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.

Soft Skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications (Preferred but Not Required)

CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
