POSITION PURPOSE
The goal of this position is to create and execute opportunities that provide resources and partnershipfor Tucson’s business community, ultimately increasing the strength of Arizona’s local economy and supporting the growth of the Business Coalition. Opportunities may include event participation, media spotlights, and/or access to resources such as technical assistance, micro-loans or creative collaborations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires experience working with small local businesses of all types and industries and delivering exemplary customer service.
Responsibilities:
Local Business Activation & Significant Growth - 70%
- Focus on outreach to the local business community to attract new businesses to the Local First Arizona movement.
- Contribute to retention and outreach efforts to local businesses including discovering new, renewing and expired businesses, including tracking touchpoints and engagements.
- Interact with and act as a point of contact for local business owner inquiries at Local First Arizona including managing outreach plans to new, renewing and expiring entities.
- Respond to inquiries for prospective local businesses and ensure the correct sign up and renewal process is executed in coordination with the Business Support Team.
- Recommend creative ideas that create value for small businesses including media, business collaboration and marketing opportunities
- Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and industry conferences to increase visibility, build relationships, and expand our coalition network.
- Coordinate and triage incoming membership inquiries ensuring responses to phone, email and social media inquiries in Tucson for the business coalition and business programs in collaboration with the Business Support Team.
- Manage administration of business coalition materials to enhance the experience of businesses that are part of Local First in Tucson.
Business Event Management - 20%
- Manage the successful execution of Tucson business events with the support of the Business Coalition Team, including creating registration forms, Wrike project management planning, and event logistics for Tucson Business Coalition Events.
- In coordination with the Director of Tucson Business Development, manage master schedule of events, including coordination of staff and volunteer coverage for each of those events.
Local First & Business Support Team on-going support - 10%
- Work with Business Support on all technical assistance and business coalition related strategic planning, goals, and related execution.
- Attend weekly Business Support Team meetings for fulfillment of duties across Local First Arizona.
- Attend weekly all-staff meetings
- Stay apprised of local and national local economy news and events (read newsletters, updates from partners).
Position Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years membership/customer service experience
- 1 year experience in event coordination and/or management
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Tucson community and local businesses in the region
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at a time while meeting a variety of deadlines
- Works independently and with team members
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Wrike, Infusionsoft and Membership Works.
- Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job
- Willing to travel occasionally.
- Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions
