What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wire and Cable Handling Specialist (2nd Shift, 2pm-10:30pm) position at Loeb Electric?
The Wire Specialist is responsible for fulfilling all commercial and industrial wire orders for our national and local clients. This position is involves cutting and prepping the wire to order specifications and preparing the final order for customer use. This role is also responsible for assisting in the inventory management of all the wire.
- Safely and accurately cut and reel designated lengths of wire.
- Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers.
- Responsible for quality and quantity of daily production tasks.
- Accurately identifies various types and sizes of wire.
- Offers solutions to problems that may arise in the wire order.
- Communicates directly with the management team on customer orders, inventory, daily tasks.
- Place materials on shelves or racks accurately.
- Recommends changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the unit.
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area. (Training provided)
Skills/Requirements:
- Warehouse and distribution experience including commercial or industrial equipment.
- Ability to work autonomously in a team environment.
- Strong basic math skills- measuring & cutting specific lengths correctly.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
- Ability to move/lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to perform tasks in multi temperature (seasonal) environment.
- Position spends 100% of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing.
- Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection.
- Experience with cutting machines such as wire take-up machines, forklift experience and RF scanners preferred.
- Familiar with material stocking process.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
