Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity
needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
The mechanical engineering team at Logos Space work on the design, development, flight validation, assembly, integration, test, and inflight success of the logos fleet of spacecraft. Mechanical engineering is responsible for ensuring the success of our network via structural analysis, thermal analysis, and test. The development of suitable facilities and the required ground support equipment also falls within the purview of the ME team. Mechanical engineers will support both bus and payload activities from the idea stage to flight.
You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague design ideas and turning them into tangible hardware ready for test and flight. We are seeking engineers who love to solve hard problems
Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall design of the Logos Spacecraft using DFM, first principles, and rapid iteration
Responsible for the mechanical validation of the Logos spacecraft via analysis and test
Responsible for mechanical support equipment needed for the assembly, integration, and test of the Logos Spacecraft
Own product delivery timeline through conception and all phases of design and development
Release of technical drawings and reports in support of the Logos spacecraft design and validation
This role will lead a team of mechanical designers and analyst working to ensure mission success of the Logos satellite constellation
Basic Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with relevant mechanical design and analysis work experience
Master's in degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with relevant mechanical design and analysis work experience
Experience
A minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical design and analysis
Professional experience with CAD and FEA software packages
Understanding and knowledge of the application of GD&T best practices
Hands on hardware experience (assembly, integration, and test) in either professional or academic settings
Proven track record of working with aerospace hardware systems throughthe entire product life cycle. Starting from conceptual designs and trade-offs through detailed design, development, manufacturing, integration, testing, deployment, and operations in a team setting.
Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills - We are looking for leader
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with relevant mechanical design and analysis work experience
3 years experience with a multiphysics simulation package such as NASTRAN and Ansys
Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
Demonstrated understanding of thermal analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance
