What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Medication Technician position at Londonderry Village?
Full Time
Shift: 11pm-7am
Pay: $20-$22.00 per hour, credit for experience
Additional $2.00 per hour shift differential, with an extra $1.50 on weekends!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administers medications and treatments to residents as ordered.
- Documents medication administration and treatments in the Electronic Health Record program (EHR).
- Complies with regulatory guidelines related to PA Department of Human Services Medication Administration initial coursework and renewals.
- Assumes charge responsibility for the unit for scheduled shift ensuring that the unit operates smoothly.
- Reports incidents and changes of condition to the PC Administrator or designee in a timely manner.
- Completes incident and/or change of condition reports in a timely manner.
- Reorders medications, treatment, and nursing supplies.
- Ensures concerns/complaints from residents and/or responsible parties are addressed initially and communicated to PC Administrator for follow-up and resolution.
- Documents all care in respective resident’s chart.
- Responds appropriately to any emergency or disaster event.
- Maintains confidentiality of all residents’ care information, including protected health information, in accordance with HIPAA and other federal and state regulations.
- Identifies resident care needs and provides care according to the respective individual support plan.
- Completes all activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Performs all tasks in a safe manner adhering to all safety policies/standards.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age per licensing regulations
- Must possess HS diploma or GED
- Valid PA Medication Technician certification required
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) or Medication Technician
