CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Community Services/Parks Recreation and Open Space
SUPERVISOR: Customer Service Supervisor or Designee

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Customer Service Supervisor or designee, provides a wide range of customer service and support to customers, community members, and employees of Los Alamos County. Implements stock control and security procedures, sets up new accounts, updates programs and service offerings, performs billing, collects incoming county revenues for programs, service offerings and permits, and follows up on delinquent accounts. Responds to customer inquiries regarding Community Services Department (CSD) programs and service offerings. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for Customer Service Associate 2:

• One year of experience as a cashier or cash handling experience or one year as Customer Service Associate 1 with Los Alamos County.

Additional Minimum Qualifications for Customer Service Associate 3:

• Two additional years of experience troubleshooting deposit discrepancies or as a Customer Service Associate 2 with Los Alamos County.
• Must possess or obtain certifications in both Word and Excel within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualification:

• Valid New Mexico driver’s license.
• Supervisory experience.
