Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Administrative Assistant, who is friendly with a positive outlook, to join our Mental Health Private Practice in Brick, NJ. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by managing administrative tasks, assisting with patient scheduling, and maintaining accurate documentation. This position requires strong communication skills both verbal and writing, and proficiency in medical software systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, including new intake appointments and follow-ups, to ensure efficient workflow.
- Handle medical collections and billing inquiries
- File and organize patient records in accordance with established protocols.
- Utilize Tebra and Charm software for various administrative tasks, including data entry and patient management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, Excel, word, writing letters, 3-4 social media posts per month
- Calling pharmacies, insurance companies for prescription status, prior authorizations
- Ordering Lab tests into various lab websites, taking copays, answering phones and emails
- Preparing biweekly payroll through Gusto software
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicare processes and medical billing practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software, particularly Tebra and Charm, is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, must be very articulate, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Competence in typing accurately at a reasonable speed is required.
- High school Diploma or GED, with medical receptionist or assistant certificate a plus
