Medical Assistant (425)

Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Northern Virginia, has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced certified medical assistant with phlebotomy experience to support a busy orthopedic medicine practice with offices in Leesburg and Aldie, VA. This full-time position that will require travel between the Stone Springs, Lansdowne and Leesburg offices.

Duties include:

• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Review medical history, current allergies and medications, obtaining vital signs
• Perform wound care to include suture/staple removal
• Phlebotomy
• Casting placement and removal
• Draw injections and prepare for aspirations and other minor office procedures.
• Patients surgery and test scheduling
• Obtaining prior authorizations for surgical procedures and diagnostic imaging if applicable
• Pre and post-operative/procedure patient education
• Other responsibilities may include front office reception and administration duties, including greeting guests, answering phones, booking appointments and handling company inquiries
• Ability to work flexible schedules to meet clinic needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must be able to multi-task with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of sterile technique along with OSHA and HIPPA standards.
• Exceptional patient customer service skills and focus
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be comfortable assessing situations and resolving or escalating as required
• Able to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients and team members
• Strong working knowledge with insurance authorizations, limitations/coverage, eligibility, billing, insurance regulations, insurance benefits and appeal processes
• Must be able to understand and explain most insurance and billing questions as it pertains to the patient
